– The Cairo Criminal Court adjourned the trial of 30 defendants accused of joining “Alexandria ISIS” organization for the December 25 hearing to proceed with pleadings.

– The Cairo Criminal Court adjourned the trial of 4 defendants into the “Haram’s KFC terrorism incidents” case for the December 24 hearing.

– The State Security Prosecution renewed the detention of Yehia al-Qazaz, Sameh Ramadan, Abdel-Fattah al-Banna, Raed Salama, Maasoum Marzouk, and Nermein Hussein for 15 days pending Case 1305/2018 State Security.

– The Cairo Criminal Court ordered the release of activist Amal Fathy and satirical media professional Shady Abo Zeid with precautionary measures, during the hearing of the appeal they submitted to challenge their detention pending investigations into Case 621/2018 State Security.

– The Cairo Criminal Court adjourned the trial of former Minister of Tourism Zuhair Garana in the case known as “companies’ licenses” for the February 18 hearing.

– The Cairo Criminal Court decided to suspend the course of the opposition filed by defendants in the “insulting the judiciary” case, until a decision is reached with regard to the request of disqualifying the court’s judges on the January 10, 2019 hearing.

  • The Cairo Criminal Court has considered the detention renewal of photojournalist Mohamed al-Husseini pending Case 915/2017 State Security, but hasn’t reached a decision yet.

  • The military appeals court is considering the appeal filed by two defendants in the case known as “The Advanced Operations Cell”, but hasn’t reached a decision yet.
