Issued decisions
– The Military East Cairo Criminal Court, convened at Tora Complex, adjourned the retrial of the defendants accused in the case known in the media as “Filming Belbeis Air Force Base” for the hearing of September 28, 2020.
– Cairo Criminal Court sentenced Banque Misr’s Chairman of the Board of Directors and an employee in the bank to 15 years in high-security prison and another defendant to 3 years in prison after convicting them of seizing 210 million Egyptian pounds using fake cheques.
– Journalist Naglaa Moahmed has appeared at the State Security Prosecution after she was arrested from her house at Downtown on September 15, 2020. The journalist was interrogated over Case No. 880 of 2020 State Security and the State Security Prosecution decided to hold her in pretrial detention for 15 days.
– The Supreme Disciplinary Court at the State Council issued its verdict in Case No. 137 of 60 (Judicial Year) acquitting 12 officials at the Directorate of Education in Aswan from the charges attributed to them by the Administrative Prosecution represented in committing financial crimes and grave administrative violations resulting in the waste of public funds.
– The Economic Cairo Court upheld the 2-year prison sentence and EGP 300,000 fine issued against Sama El-Masry . The court’s first circuit presided over by judge Ramy Mansour had sentenced El-Masry to two years in prison and a fine of EGP 300,000 on charges of inciting immorality and debauchery.
– Cairo Criminal Court adjourned the detention renewal session of Sayed al-Garaihi Gharib, Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed Abdallah, and Ebrahim Ahmed Ebrahim pending Case No. 1530 of 2019 State Security due to the absence of the defendants.
The court also adjourned the detention renewal session of Badr Badr Mohamed pending Case No. 1360 of 2019 State Security due to the inability to transfer the defendant from his jail to the courthouse.
