Issued decisions 

– The First Circuit at Cairo Criminal Court sentenced two defendants accused in the case known in the media as “The arson of Kafr Hakim Church” to 10 years in high-security prison, and placed them under police surveillance for five years after the end of the penalty.

– The appeals judge at South Criminal Court ordered the release of 31 defendants who are accused of gathering at Manshaet Nasser Police Station after the killing of two brothers at the hands of 4 of their cousins over a blood feud issue.

– The Court of Administrative Justice’s First Circuit adjourned the consideration of the lawsuit submitted by Abdel-Rahman Awwad demanding to withdraw the license granted to Human Rights Watch organization’s office in Egypt. The case was postponed for the hearing of 24 October 2020.

– The Public Prosecution decided to hold defendant Omar Hafez in pretrial detention pending investigations into the sexual assault against Fairmont Hotel’s girl which took place in 2014.

Decisions not issued

  • The Military Court is considering the trial of 555 defendants in the case known in the media as “Sinai Province Organization”, but hasn’t reached a decision so far.
