Issued decisions
– Cairo Criminal (Terrorism) Court’s 1st circuit decided, yesterday, to replace the pretrial detention of Thaer Ezzat Abdel-Magid, Mahmoud Ali Mostafa, Ibrahim Mohamed Ibrahim, and Khaled Sayed Youssef with precautionary measures pending Case No. 1739 of 2018 State Security. The State Security Prosecution hasn’t yet appealed against the decision.
– Cairo Criminal (Terrorism) Court’s 1st circuit decided, yesterday, to replace the pretrial detention of Khalil Abdel-Hamid and Mohamed Walid with precautionary measures pending Case No. 1358 of 2019 State Security.

– Cairo Criminal (Terrorism) Court’s 1st circuit decided, yesterday, to renew the detention of Esraa Abdel-Fattah for 45 days pending Case No. 488 of 2019 State Security.
– The Court of Administrative Justice at the State Security has unanimously turned down the appeal No. 40102 of 64 (judicial year) submitted by the head of the National Press Authority (NPA). The court accordingly obliged the authority to continue implement the final verdicts issued in favor of journalist Mahmoud Al-Manawi and to appoint him as the as chief editor of Al-Ahram newspaper.
– Cairo Criminal (Terrorism) Court sentenced, today (Wednesday), two defendants to one year in prison with forced labor following their retrial procedures over the 7-year high-security prison sentence issued in absentia against them in the case of “May 15 district’s violence incidents”.
– North Cairo Criminal Court adjourned the trial of 17 defendants accused of seizing state’s property and agricultural lands in Cairo and Giza governorates- estimated by the concerned authorities at about 500 billion EGP- using forged documents registered in the Badrashin Court and property registration records. The trial was postponed to the hearing of September 20, 2020 to review the case’s papers and check the exhibits.
– Cairo Criminal (Terrorism) Court’s 1st circuit ordered the detention renewal of human rights lawyer Amr Imam, journalist Solafa Magdy, her husband photojournalist Hossam al-Sayyad, engineer Hassan Abdel-Hamid, Mohamed Fady, Sameh Magdy, student Omar Khaled, and journalist Ahmed Shaker pending Case No. 488 of 2019 State Security.
– Egypt’s National Elections Authority’s board headed by Counselor Lashin Ibrahim, Vice President of the Court of Cassation, decided today, Wednesday, to refer all voters who failed to cast their vote in the first round of the Senate elections to the Public Prosecution to take its measures.
– Cairo Criminal (Terrorism) Court’s 1st circuit has replaced the pretrial detention of human rights lawyer Ibrahim Metwally with precautionary measures pending Case No. 1470 of 2019 State Security.
– Cairo Criminal (Terrorism) Court’s 1st circuit has replaced the pretrial detention of 39 defendants with precautionary measures pending Case No. 1530 of 2019 State Security.
