– Cairo Criminal Court renewed, yesterday evening, the detention of the Strong Egypt Party head Dr. Abdel-Moneim Abo El-Fetouh for 45 days pending case No. 440 of 2018 State Security. 

– The State Security Prosecution renewed, yesterday evening, the detention of the Strong Egypt Party deputy president Mohamed al-Qassas for 15 days pending case No. 1781 of 2010 State Security.

– Cairo Criminal Court renewed, yesterday evening, the detention of activist Mostafa Maher and accountant Rania al-Guili for 45 days pending case No. 741 of 2019 State Security.

– Cairo Criminal Court renewed, yesterday evening, the detention of Ola Al-Qaradawi for 45 days pending case No. 800 of 2019 State Security.

– Blogger Shady Serour has appeared before the Supreme State Security Prosecution that interrogated him after being arrested from Cairo Airport upon his return from the United States of America. 

– Cairo Criminal Court has rejected the appeal challenging the decision to replace the pretrial detention of Ayaa Abdallah with precautionary measures pending case No. 640 of 2018 State Security, and accordingly upheld the decision.  

– The Military Appeals Court has turned down the appeal submitted by Khaled Lotfy, owner of “Tanmia” publishing house, challenging the 5-year prison sentence he received for translating “The Angel” book. The court accordingly upheld the ruling.

– The detention renewal of lawyer Zyad El-Eleimy and journalists Hossam Moanis and Hisham Fouad has been adjourned; due to inability to transfer them to the courthouse to consider their hearing pending case No. 930 of 2019 State Security.  

– The detention renewal of human rights lawyer Amr Imam and labor leader Kamal Khalil and the deputy head of the Popular Alliance Party Abdel Nasser Ismail has been adjourned; due to inability to transfer them to the Prosecution’s headquarters to consider their hearing pending case No. 488 of 2019 State Security.   

– The Military Court has adjourned the trial of 555 defendants in the case known in the media as “Sinai Province Organization” for January 14 hearing; due to inability to transfer the defendants. 

– Cairo Criminal Court has adjourned the trial of 34 defendants in the case known in the media as “the raid on Al-Tebbein Police Station”; due to inability to transfer the defendants.  

– The first trial hearing of Alexandria’s former Deputy Governor Souad El-Khouly in the case of illicit gains has been adjourned for February 24 hearing; due to inability to bring the defendant to the courthouse.
