Issued decisions

– Cairo Criminal Court decided, yesterday evening, to replace the pretrial detention issued against Dr. Walid Shawky, lawyer Sayed al-Banna and researcher Ayman Abdel-Moati with precautionary measures pending case No. 621 of 2018 State Security. The Prosecution has consequently appealed the decision and a hearing is set tomorrow to consider the appeal. 

– Cairo Criminal Court renewed, yesterday evening, the detention of Thaer Ezzat, Ibrahim Medhat, Hamada Mohamed, Ibrahim Mohamed, Mahmoud Mahrous and Karim Rabea Zeidan for 45 days pending case No. 1739 of 2018 State Security. 

– Cairo Criminal Court renewed, yesterday evening, the detention of Reeman El-Hussani for 45 days pending case No. 817 of 2018 State Security. 

– Cairo Criminal Court ordered, yesterday evening, the continuation of the precautionary measures issued against journalist Shorouk Amgad for 45 days pending case No. 441 of 2018 State Security.

– Cairo Criminal Court ordered, yesterday evening, the continuation of the precautionary measures issued against activist Amr Ali for 45 days pending case No. 473 of 2014 State Security.

– The Military Court adjourned the trial of 271 defendants in the case known in the media as “Hasm Movement II” for October 30 hearing. 

– Giza Criminal Court adjourned the trial of 15 defendants in the case known as “US Embassy incidents II” for October 28 hearing. 

Decisions not issued until 5pm 

– The Supreme State Security Prosecution is considering the detention renewal session of journalist Israa Abdel-Fattah pending case No. 488 of 2019 State Security, but hasn’t reached a decision so far.

– The Supreme State Security Prosecution is considering the detention renewal session of human rights lawyer Mohamed al-Baqir and political activist Alaa Abdel-Fattah pending case No. 1356 of 2019 State Security, but hasn’t reached a decision so far.
