– The Court of Cassation turned down the appeal submitted by the defendants in the case known in the media as “Egypt Soldiers”, and, accordingly, upheld the death sentences issued against 13 defendants, the life imprisonment sentence against 17 defendants, the 15-year prison sentence against two defendants, and the 5-year prison sentence against 7 others. The court, on the other hand, ordered the acquittal of 5 other defendants in the case.<\/p>\n
