The Freedom of Expression for Labor and Social Movements of the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information said: “The shock of the Egyptian society during the month of July after the spread of a video taken by the footage taken from a surveillance camera at Mar Girgis (St. George) metro station of the first line of the subway showing a girl in her twenties takes throwing herself in front of the train on July 1, and meets her end at once. This was not the only incident of its kind this month. The same scene has been repeated at least three times. ”

The program added: “It has been observed through monitoring that suicide due to the poor economic and social conditions still tops the list of forms of social protest, and suicide attempts have reached 15, of which 13 were killed.”

The program issued its monthly report on the labor and social protests index for July 2018. The program observed (53 protests), including (18 labor and professional protests) and (35 social protests).

Cairo topped the labor and professional protests in July with 4 protests. Cairo also topped social protests by 9 social protests during July.
