– Cairo Criminal Court sentenced, yesterday evening, Karim Magdy, Al-Amiriya Police Station’s assistant detective, along with 8 low-ranking police officers to three years in prison for torturing citizen Magdy Makin to death in December 2016, after the Prosecution charged him with the crime of beating to death.

– The Court of Administrative Justice at the State Council turned down, today morning, all the appeals demanding to cancel the Bar Association’s General Assembly requesting to vote on merging the sub-syndicates and calling for sub-union elections.

Decisions not issued 

– The third circuit (Terrorism) convened at the Police Cadets Institute has considered the detention renewal session of lawyer Zyiad El-Eleimy, Hossam Moanis and journalist Hisham Fouad pending  Case No. 930 of 2019, known in the media as “Hope Coalition”. The same circuit is also considering the precautionary measures issued against Ahmed Tammam pending the aforementioned case.

-The court is also considering the detention renewal of the following: Islam Fathi in Case No. 470 of 2019 State Security;

– Ibrahim Ahmed, Belal Mohamed, Abdel-Rahman Mohamed in Case No. 1530 of 2019 State Security

– Ahmed Anwar pending Case No. 558 of 2020 State Security

– The court also is considering the precautionary measures against Haytham Hassan pending Case No. 576 of 2020.

– The Public Prosecution at Sharqyia governorate’s Kafr Saqr has considered the detention renewal session of Reda Abdel-Rahman on a charge of joining an ISIS-affiliated group into Case No. 3418 of 2020 State Security, but none of them has reached a decision yet
