Issued decisions

  • The 2nd circuit at the criminal (terrorism) court, convened at the Police Cadets Institute, decided to replace the pretrial detention of more than 300 defendants in all the cases considered today with precautionary measures. The most prominent of them are: Mohamed Oxygen pending Case No. 1356 of 2019 State Security, journalist Sayed Abdellah, labor leader Rashad Kamal, and activist Sameh Seoudi pending Case No. 1338 of 2019 State Security which is known in the media as “September 2019 incidents”, along with all those detained pending the Case No. 1739 of 2018 State Security.


  • The 2nd circuit at the criminal (terrorism) court decided yesterday to replace the pretrial detention of journalist Haytham Hassan with precautionary measures pending Case No. 586 of 2020 State Security.   

 

  • The terrorism circuit at the criminal court decided yesterday to renew the detention of lawyer and former MP Zyiad El-Eliemy and journalists Hisham Fouad and Hossam Moanis for 45 days pending Case No. 930 of 2019 State Security, known in the media as “Hope Case”.

 

  • The 1st terrorism circuit at Giza Criminal Court, convened at the Police Academy, sentenced- today (Tuesday)- Mohamed Shawky to 10 years in high-security prison into his retrial procedures in the case publicly known as “the arson of Kafr Hakim Church” while placing him under police surveillance.

 

  • The Supreme Disciplinary Court of the State Council ordered the acquittal of the Director General of Legal Affairs and 4 attorneys in the General Authority of Meteorology in the Case No. 170 of 61 (Supreme Judicial), after proving them innocent of the charge of committing financial, administrative and legal infractions. On the other hand, it decided to punish a lawyer for not performing the assigned work in the accurate way.

 

  • The New Cairo Appellate Misdemeanor Court, held in the Fifth Settlement Courts Complex, renewed the detention of the defendants in the case of the gang rape of a girl inside Fairmont Hotel for 45 days pending probe.
