– Helwan University’s disciplinary board for faculty members adjourned the disciplinary trial session of professor Yehia al-Qazaz for October 18, 2020 over the Lawsuit No. 2 of 2018, in which he is accused of insulting the president on the social networking website “Facebook”. The trial was postponed until checking the case’s papers and making a response to the CD submitted by the university.
– Helwan University’s disciplinary board for faculty members also postponed considering the disciplinary lawsuit, No. 1 of 2020, in which professor Yehia al-Qazaz is accused of joining a terrorist group, to the session of October 18, 2020 until the university is permitted to give a statement of what happened into Case No. 1305 of 2018 High State Security.
– The State Security Prosecution has renewed the detention of journalist and researcher Shaimaa Sami for 15 days pending Case No. 535 of 2020 State Security without letting Sami appear before the prosecutor.
– Cairo Criminal Court’s 1st circuit (Terrorism) sentenced Zakaria Al-Sayed- a minor- to three years in prison with forced labor into his retrial procedure in the case of “The Qualitative Operations Committees” affiliated to the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group, on charges of committing violence incidents at Ain Shams district which led to the killing of journalist Mayada Ashraf, child Sherif Abdel-Raouf, and citizen Mary George.
– Cairo Criminal Court convened at Abbassyia adjourned the retrial of former Finance Minister Youssef Botrous Ghali on a charge of intentionally damaging the funds of the party he works for. The case was postponed for the hearing of the first of November 2020.
– Al-Agouza Appellant Misdemenor Court set the hearing of October 18, 2020 to consider the appeal submitted by singer Eissaf challenging the 6-month prison sentence issued against him by Al-Agouza Misdemenor Court on a charge of assaulting and beating a university professor and former police officer.
