Issued decisions
– Cairo Criminal Court’s 1st circuit decided, yesterday evening, to adjourn the trial of Engineer Mamdouh Hamza on charges of publishing false news and inciting violence for the hearing of August 26, 2020 for pleading the case.
– Cairo Criminal Court upheld the decision issued by the Public Prosecutor to freeze the assets of influencers Haneen Hossam, Mawadda Al-Adham and others.
– Cairo Economic Misdemeanor Court adjourned the trial of Mazen Ibrahim and Shaimaa Ahmed, accused in the case of Menna Abdel-Aziz, for the hearing of the first of next September.
– The Court of Administrative Justice’s 2nd Circuit decided to suspend the implementation of the decision issued by the general president of the Egyptian Writers Union on the 8th of last April calling for holding two general assemblies for the union on August 21 and 28 to elect a new board of directors in order to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.
– Terrorism Misdemeanor Court in Sharqyia governorate sentenced 10 defendants affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist group to 5 years in prison for possessing publications inciting against the state and holding organizational meetings that incite violence.
– Cairo Criminal Court’s 1st circuit adjourned the retrial of 12 defendants in the case known in the media as “the cabinet incidents” for the hearing of September 8, 2020 to proceed with the pleadings.
– Minya Criminal Court sentenced, in absentia, the Muslim Brotherhood’s deputy guide and 7 others to life imprisonment. The court also handed down 8 defendants a 5-year prison sentence while ordering the acquittal of one defendant in the case of “Minya’s Al-Sharaina Cell”.

– The Military Court is considering the trial of 555 defendants in the case known in the media as “Sinai Province Organization”, but hasn’t reached a decision so far.
– Giza Criminal Court’s 2nd circuit is considering the retrial of one defendant in the case publicly known as “Al-Azhar University’s violence incident”, but hasn’t reached a decision so far.
– Terrorism Criminal Court is considering the detention renewal sessions of defendants Thaer Ezzat, Ibrahim Mohamed, Ibrahim Medhat, Khaled Sayed, Hamada Mohamed, Karim Zeidan and Mahmoud Mahrous in the Case No. 1739 of 2018 State Security, but hasn’t reached a decision so far.
– Terrorism Criminal Court is considering the detention renewal sessions of defendants Abdel-Ghani Ali, Ahmed Mohamed, Sayed El-Garaihi, Abdel-Rahman Abdel-Zaher, Belal Abdel-Zaher, Ibrahim Ahmed and Mohamed Mostafa in the Case No. 1530 of 2019 State Security, but hasn’t reached a decision so far.
