– The State Security Prosecution renewed, yesterday evening, the detention of human rights lawyer Mohamed al-Baqir and blogger and activist Alaa Abdel-Fattah for 15 days pending case No. 1356 of 2019 State Security.

– The State Security Prosecution ordered the release of 244 defendants in case No. 1338 of 2019 State Security under the guarantee of their place of residence.

– The State Security Prosecution renewed, yesterday evening, the detention of activist Israa Abdel-Fattah for 15 days pending case No. 488 of 2019 State Security.

– Cairo Criminal Court revoked the prison sentence issued against Montaser El-Zayat, Mohamed Moneib and Mohamed El-Omda, and sentenced them to a LE30,000 fine while ordering them to pay one million pounds as a compensation. The court also dropped the charges against writer Abdel Halim Qandil in the case known in the media as “insulting the judiciary”.

– Port Said Criminal Court adjourned the retrial of 72 defendants in the case known in the media as “storming Al-Arab Police Station” for November 28.

– Alexandria Criminal Court renewed the detention of activist Ayman Mahmoud, aka “Mondy”, for 45 day pending case No. 12587 of 2018 Al-Montazah Administration.

– Cairo Criminal Court rejected the appeal submitted by the State Security Prosecution challenging the decision to replace the pretrial detention of former Minister of Justice Counselor Ahmed Suleiman with precautionary measures, and accordingly upheld the decision ordering him not to leave his home pending case No. 623 of 2019 State Security.

– Cairo Criminal Court accepted the appeal submitted by the State Security Prosecution against the release of human rights lawyer Sayed al-Banna, Dr Walid Shawky and linguist Ayman Abdel-Moati pending case No. 621 of 2018 State Security, and, accordingly, renewed their detention for 45 days.
